I'm Mallory. I like to look at pretty pictures. I translate things into Circular Gallifreyan. Any requests you have should be made on my tumblr: , but please be aware that I am only open for requests when it says so on my ask page.
I'm a math ed student at BYU, Harry Potter is my favorite thing, and I like babies and old people.
I thought I better just put this out there for everybody because I've had to turn multiple people down recently.
If you want to make a request for me to translate something into Gallifreyan for you, please do so on my tumblr: .  You can make requests even if you don't have a tumblr, it'll just be on anonymous.
I am not taking requests at the moment, and will not be taking them again until December.  I'm backed up as it is, and then once I catch up I'm taking the rest of November off because I'm going to be doing NaNoWriMo and that's quite enough extracurricular demands on my time to be getting on with. :)  So sorry, but if there's something you'd like translated I'm going to have to ask that you hold that thought until December, and then come and let me know in my tumblr ask box!
Thank pretties!

I did a quick spell check on your gallifreyan pieces. I was drawn in on your style, but the translations were a bit off. They aren't nearly as bad as my translations make them seem. You mostly just jumbled the order of the letters. Make sure the first letter is at the very bottom, and then the rest follow counterclockwise around the word. There are several other little things, like forgetting lines, dots, and what ever, but everybody does that. Sometimes your vowel placement is often very good, except your "a"s are sometimes a bit off. Also, a quick note on double letters, you don't need to add another set of modifiers if the letters are the same, just two circles of the same with (you only need three dots for an "LL"). But when you stack two letters that are different, you stack the second one (the smaller, inside, circle) will be thicker, you add the separate modifiers then (an "st" would have a thick "t" line, and three lines connecting to the "s").

I really hope you take my criticism positively. You just have such a beautiful style, and I don't want that raw tallent to go to waist. I will watch you and give you spell checks and feedback :)

Thanks! I appreciate you wanting to be helpful. :)
The thing is most of these are really old (as in a year and a half) and they're some of the first ones I ever did. I actually just do them on tumblr when people request them, so obviously I've gotten better since these first few times I tried it. Looking back on these I see that there are a lot of mistakes, but I don't really care since I don't use deviantart as my platform for them anyway.
I know how the order works, but the thing is, this language arrangement isn't canon- it's just something that was made up by a (very very clever and artistic) fan online, so there are no hard and fast rules about how the inner details of the orientation have to work. Usually I just start at the bottom and go counter-clockwise and orient the following circles based more on what works aesthetically rather than what makes reading easier. Because it all depends on what you define as the "bottom" of each circle- is it just the lowest point, or is it the point closest to the outer circle, or is it the point closest to the previous circle? There's no definition so I go with what works best.
As for double letters, yes you don't have to do double modifiers, but that doesn't mean you can't. I just like to because I think it looks cool.
I've never done the stacking two different letters thing, but it sounds fun so I'll have to give it a try next time I do one!
When I first learned this, the tutorial on sherman's website was a little different, so I'm also working off of slightly antiquated rules, so that's probably a reason for some of the confusion. I've also invented some symbols for punctuation that sherman didn't have at all, so that probably also threw you off as well.
I do appreciate you going through my work though, please don't think I'm trying to just disregard everything you said. Just wanted to clarify some of it, and also just throw out that disclaimer that the stuff I have here on deviantart is probably my worst work so I hope you won't judge me purely on these examples.
I also do them all for free and I do them by hand instead of digitally, so you know, you're getting what you're paying for with my stuff. :D
So yeah, don't hold your breath waiting for more stuff to check on this website though. I rarely use it for these translations.
Thanks again!
